Taking a screenshot on your iPad is a great way to capture information or share something you're seeing on your screen. There are a few different ways to do it, depending on your iPad model.


On iPads with a Home button


Press and hold the Top button and the Home button at the same time.

Release both buttons when you see a flash and hear a screenshot sound.

The screenshot will be saved to your Photos app.

How to Take a Scrolling Screenshot


If you want to take a screenshot of a webpage or document that is longer than your iPad screen, you can take a scrolling screenshot.


Follow the steps above to take a regular screenshot.

A thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the lower-left corner of your screen.

Tap the thumbnail to open it.

Tap Full Page at the top of the screen.

The screenshot will scroll down automatically.

When you're finished, tap Done.

How to Take a Screenshot with Assistive Touch


If you have difficulty using the physical buttons on your iPad, you can use Assist Touch to take a screenshot.


Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch.

Turn on AssistiveTouch.

Tap the AssistiveTouch icon that appears on your screen.

Tap Device > Screenshot.

A screenshot will be taken and saved to your Photos app.

How to Edit a Screenshot
