The new features of Microsoft Office will help users edit text, create spreadsheets, design presentations, manage email … in a flexible and easy way. If you are a student, office workers then you should definitely not skip this Office 2010.

What’s New in Office 2010

  • The File Menu is Back!
In Office 2007 the File menu was replaced with the Microsoft Office button. In Office 2010 the Microsoft Office Button is referred to as the File tab. Clicking on File will bring you into the Backstage View.
  • Backstage View
Backstage view is where you manage your files and the data about them — creating, saving, inspecting for hidden metadata or personal information, and setting options. In short, it is everything that you do to a file that you don’t do in the file. The Backstage view hides your current document, and gives you access to file-related activities.
Some of the commands in the Backstage view function as they did in previous versions: Save, Save As, Open and Close.
Other tabs are new or redesigned: Info , Recent , New , Print , Save &Send, Help , Options.

  • Customizing the Ribbon
The Ribbon in Office 2010 is now fully customizable. You can not only add icons to a group but you can also create new Tabs.

  • Improved Picture Tools
    New Artistic Effects
With Word 2010, you can now apply sophisticated “artistic” effects to your picture to make the picture look more like a sketch, drawing, or painting. It’s an easy way to enhance your images without using additional photo-editing programs. Some of the 20 new artistic effects include Pencil Sketch, Line Drawing, Watercolor Sponge, Mosaic Bubbles, Glass, Pastels Smooth, Plastic Wrap, Photocopy, and Paint Strokes.

  • Navigation Pane
The navigation pane hosts a set of related features for getting around in your document, searching for content, and manipulating the structure and organization of headings
